Below are some resources that may be helpful to individuals facing a criminal charge in Pennsylvania.

Chester County

Chester County District Attorney – The District Attorney is the chief law enforcement agent in the county. They are responsible for prosecuting individuals charged with criminal offenses. They have final say on whether to follow through with a prosecution after the police have made an arrest.

Chester County Adult Probation – Adult probation is responsible for supervising and monitoring individuals who have been convicted of crimes and placed on probation or parole. Once someone is convicted and sentenced to probation they will be assigned a probation officer that they will report to during the length of their probation. If someone is sentenced to a period of incarceration then then they will be assigned a parole officer immediately after they have been paroled.

Chester County Prison – Chester Count Prison is responsible for housing individuals who could not make bail and are awaiting trial and individuals who have been convicted of a crime and have been sentenced to a term of imprisonment that is less than two years.

Chester County Bail Agency – The Chester County Bail Agency monitors individuals who have been released on bail. A person released on bail will be required to report to the Bail Agency periodically while they are waiting for their case to be resolved.

Chester County Clerk of Courts – All criminal filings and documents are filed with the clerk of courts. They are the official record keeper of all criminal documents.

Chester County District Justices – All traffic cases and criminal cases are first filed with the District Justice in the jurisdiction where the arrest or citation occurred. Before a criminal case can proceed to trial, it must first be heard before a District Justice.

Montgomery County
